Mommy's little helper

Ariana has discovered that I do lots of really fun things in the kitchen. She already pulls a chair over to the counter the minute she sees the mixing bowl come out, so she can help dump ingredients and stir... On this particular occasion, she decided to "organize" the silverware drawer for me after she was finished baking...

Another Picaso in the making...

After, seeing the pictures of her little cousins- Gavin and Zane- painting, we decided that Ariana needed to be a little creative genius as well! So off to Walmart, to explore the Crayola aisle and see just what our little artist "needed!"

I am in love with all the "small child" friendly items Crayola now makes- not just because they are all super washable but because of my own love for creativity/art, I am thrilled to share that with her and see her wonder as she opens a new box of crayons, sidewalk chalk or paints... She loves when Nathan or I join her and often if we aren't really paying attention, she'll hand us a crayon and ask for us to color. She has her own special word for it but I am not sure how to translate it in to readable, adult English! She also loves for us to draw her shapes- circles being her special favorite with stars and hearts pulling a close second. She also likes triangles and knows their shape as well, but will only repeat "triangle" after you say it first..."trigangangle..." Which I find absolutely endearing!

Helping Daddy...

'
With the warm weather finally here, it was time to break out the hose, buckets and car wash...Ariana stayed outside with Nathan while he scrubbed and polished, while I cooked dinner indoors. I did manage to sneak out and capture a few photos of her washing her "car." She absolutely LOVES being outdoors and anything involving water and especially, bubbles... It kept her busy for quite sometime!

We have also found out that this little girl loves cars! This makes her Bop-Bop (Grandpa) so happy! It must be that "Barron blood" in her! One of her favorites movies right now is Disney's "Cars" and if we are outside and a car drives by she says, " car- yay!" and she knows that Bop-Bop drives a "chuck." It has been a great way to work on her colors..." back car, bwoo car, red car, etc...

About Our Family...

My photo
We are a family who was birthed through God's incredible goodness- joining our hearts and lives in a way we call miraculous. Nathan and I were married April 11,2009, which just happened to be one of the most perfect days in our lives. Ariana is our beautiful, two year old daughter, that we thank God for every day. She brings so much joy to our lives and delight to our hearts. Landon joined us six months ago. He was born with a heart defect and had open heart surgery at three months of age. We are so grateful for his speedy healing and this happy, healthy baby boy! We are an Army family- this is Nathans' thirteenth year serving our country. We recently moved across the country and are loving the life God has blessed us with. Our life is simple, but its beautiful to us and I pray that you are blessed by the beauty that we find in it.
